Favourite :: Buddha by Osamu Tezuka

I have been sharing my favourites for the week past for a while but I thought it would share some of my all time favourites.

I was introduced to graphic novels by Mr P. Before this I was only into thrillers/fiction/dystopian type of books. To be fair I had not been reading all that much and it just felt a little overwhelming because all books come as series now so it a long term commitment that one has to make.

Most people think that graphic novels are basically comics. In some popular book stores I find graphic novels in the comics sections. But when you actually do read the book and see the art you realise that graphic novels have a much larger scale. Like in any novel there are a lot of layers that are added (in this case visually) to the plot and characters. And in my opinion I feel that graphic novels are so much more graphic and exaggerated than a traditional novel or a comic book can be.

One of my favourites is the Buddha series by Osamu Tezuka. This was the first series that I read. And till date it is one of my favourite.

This is different from what I usually post.

Hope you like it…
