I have always loved order and routine. I try and stick by them as much as I can. I am able to achieve a lot in the day if I stick to routines. Also my 6 yr old appreciates knowing what she is expected to do next.
Then there are those days when we can’t stick to order and routine. I obviously love a spontaneous picnic at the park or a movie plan. While I am willing to skip some of the step I have quickly realised that I don’t like skipping 3 very simple checkpoints.
- 8 Hours of sleep :: Getting my 7 to 8 hours of sleep makes me a better human being. It is the honest truth. I have always loved my sleep. I was never one to count hours but with very close observation I have realised that for me the 7 to 8 hrs sleep is the sweet spot. This means that I don’t feel lazy all day long. Also I have noticed that I am much more patient if I get a minimum of 7 hrs in the night.
- Quiet morning coffee :: I love having my morning coffee in absolute peace and quiet. I love weaking up before everyone and having some time to myself. This small effort on my part has a multifold effect on my day. I am able to organise my though. I am able to prioritise. This sometimes looks like I have to wake up at 5 in the morning but after several failed attempts waking up before everyone is always a good idea.
- Checking bank account everyday :: This is a new habit that I have gotten into since I started watching the Budget Mom on Instagram. I have always wanted to budget especially for special occasions. By checking my account everyday I have gotten into the habit to planning my expenses. I have also been able to pinpoint small everyday unnecessary spends that add up to a big amount at the end of the month.
